Mr.D.K Manavalan is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. He was Joint Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), In Charge of Youth Affairs, Additional Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Welfare, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries, Government of West Bengal and has held several such senior positions under the Government of India. Mr. Manavalan‘s academic credentials include a course in Public Administration from the National Academy of Administration,Mussorrie.He was also a fellow of the Economic Development Institute, World Bank, Washington DC, USA. Mr. Manavalan is presently heading Action for Food Production (AFPRO), a national development organisation, working on the issues of Natural Resource Management, Watershed and Livelihood Programme for the tribal, scheduled caste and other marginalized population of India.
