Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) in 14 Villages of Maski Block, Raichur District, Karnataka

Project Background: 14 villages from three-gram panchayats of Maski block of Raichur, Karnataka state are selected based the needs of the village identified during RRA exercise and HRDP objectives.

Understanding the need for in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of socio-economic and political system, a bottom to top approach will be adopted to improve the well-being of rural community with the identified interventions. The project will be divided in following three phases to execute the interventions systematically and to achieve the sustainable outcomes. It will be helpful in changing the present situation and improving life quality of target community in sustainable manner.

The phase will be a foundation phase for the implementation of the interventions. The major objective of the phase is to mobilize the community for their active role in the project and to develop common understanding between all stakeholders and the project team. It will also support to improve the participation of the villagers in the project. Entry Point Activity will be taken up at village level to establish rapport with the community and win the confidence of the community to take the project in a participatory manner. AFPRO would make a sustained effort to develop service providers/paraprofessionals that would be accountable for the Panchayats/village councils in operation and maintenance aspects of the created infrastructure.
