Dr. Jacob John is Executive Director and Ex Officio Secretary of AFPRO Governing Body. He is a Ph.D. in Economics (Topics: Economics of Public Water Supply System) from University of Kerala and MBA in Finance and Marketing from IGNOU. As a development sector specialist, an economist and social scientist, he has long working experience in India and abroad. He has worked with UNIDO in India and UNIDO in Italy in different capacities in executing various development programmes. He has also worked with various government and private sector organisations in India. He has wide experience in dealing with funding agencies, government institutions, ministries, state governments and district administrations in planning and the execution of development projects. Dr. Jacob John has wide experience in the formulation and execution of development programmes in agriculture, water and sanitation, energy and natural resource management, rural development and rural livelihood. He has served as member of various expert communities of Government of India. He has published several books, articles, working papers and study reports on various development issues.
