Mr Krishna Kumar has 33-years of professional experience with a Master’s degree in Botany and specialized training in environmental, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation and project management. During 1996-2024 and prior to joining AFPRO, Krishna held several key positions such as the National Project Manager with Global Environment Facility funded Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and UNDP projects, General Manager (Projects and Business Development) at IRG Systems South Asia, Deputy Director, NRM, Research and Policy Analysis at CECOEDECON, Sr Programme Officer, Forest & Biodiversity, and Head, Network Coordination, Govt and Aid Agencies at World Wide Fund For Nature-India. He has led projects on ESIAs, ENR, sustainable livelihoods, climate change adaptation, and biodiversity conservation, including preparation of State Action Plans on Climate Change. During 1990-95, Mr Kumar was awarded 2 research fellowships by MoEFCC. Mr Kumar has several publications to his credit in peer reviewed journals and edited books. He is recognized by NABET and QCI as an accredited Environment Impact Assessment Coordinator and Functional Area Expert in Ecology and Biodiversity.
