LDC- AFPRO Jagruti- A STEP TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE COTTON FARMING

Project Background: ‘Project Jagruthi’ in India, to train and support local cotton farmers in adopting more sustainable farming practices, as part of our commitment to empowering smallholder farming communities – in India and around the world – to improve their livelihoods for the long term. This project is implemented with cotton farmers in the seven Districts of Maharashtra and Gujarat with the objective in handling pink bollworm infestation to raise the crop productivity, livelihoods and well-being of farmers.

 

Project Objectives:

  • Identifying the villages and farmers to conduct meetings.
  • Organising the farmers meetings and distribution of pheromone traps.
  • Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Practices in cotton cultivation
  • Feeback and monitoring data capturing as critical aspect of MIS.
