EMPOWER WOMEN VIA SKILL-BASED TRAINING TO ENABLE ESTABLISHMENT OF MICRO-ENTERPRISES

Project Background: The project villages have presence of around 124 self-help groups, mostly formed through Andhra Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (APRLP) Program of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Total 25 SHGS targeted for Capacity building and 5 SHGs for Micro & Small Entrepreneurship support. It is planned to support 5 SHGs for establishing different types of Micro & small enterprises. These are selected based on managerial capacities of the SHGs and market feasibility in the project area. Given below is the list of SMEs proposed under the project.

  • Mushroom cultivation
  • Flour Grinding mill
  • Oil extraction unit
  • Millet Processing

Vizianagaram is one of the important aspirational district and city in northeast Andhara Pradesh in south India. The project is proposed to be implemented in five villages of Gajapathinagaram Mandal of Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh.

Project Objectives:

  • Strengthen governance, financial and digital literacy of the women self-help groups.
  • Provide skill-based training to the women self-help groups to enable establishment of
  • micro-enterprises.
