Chandan Baruah is a Small Tea Grower under Singhi Industry Pvt. Ltd., Golaghat. His tea garden is located around 12 km. from the town of Golaghat and 2 km. from Singhi Industry Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Chandan excels in tea cultivation and  treated as  lead farmer in the region. He has tea garden of 8 bighas and rice fields over 50 bighas. He has 5 other tea farmers which he supports and looks after for commercial, marketing and technical aspects. He collects and sells around 2,30,000 kgs. of green leafs in a year from tea gardens.

He expressed that “the Trustea Program supported by Trustea Foundation and AFPRO has made him and his fellow farmers aware and responsible for food safety, workers safety, and environment”. Now he is using cow dung as manure instead of chemical fertilizers. After joining Trustea Program, he got  training on safety and environment aspects of tea cultivation and has developed dedicated mixing plot (so that it is far from natural water body), Buffer zone in the garden (where only bio pesticides are sprayed), PPE kit for workers (worker safety), washing station, etc. as trained under Trustea Program. He says “enrolling in the program has improved his overall management of tea farming, now there is reduction in using chemicals and increase in safety standards of workers. This has contributed for betterment of environment and safety of workers in the tea industry.”
